Chronically overachieving, HJC’s open face CL-33 helmet takes a low price point and fills it up with good value. A proven polycarbonate shell provides tough safety while also keeping the weight down and the UV treated face shield ensures a commanding view of the road. Small enough to store in the luggage compartment of your scooter or motorcycle, the HJC CL-33 is everything you could want in an open face helmet. The dynamic EXO-GT920 modular helmet benefits from an all-new shell and shape. It is also packed with key features that exceed the demands of discriminating riders like a unique SpeedView® drop-down sun visor, a KwikWick® II liner and aero-tuned ventilation.
Comfort and convenience are what a touring rider looks for in a flip-up modular helmet and the AGV Numo EVO has both. Quite stylish from the outside, the sharp designs continue on the inside with a plush interior and ventilation that doesn’t miss a beat even with the flip-up design format. Released by way of a large button on the center of the chin, the front piece rotates up quickly when stopped on the bike. Capable enough to impressive a wide variety of riders, the Numo EVO is a solid choice for city, touring and even sport riding.
Nolan has a great urban style open face helmet in the N20 but what they didn’t have in their lineup was a more touring oriented open face helmet. Enter the N40. Featuring a small aerodynamic visor (which can be removed if desired), a drop down sun shield and space for N-Com communication, the N40 is a surprisingly comfortable place to be on long rides. A small amount of adjustability has been built into the cheek pads to let you customize the fit and with the generously sized face shield, your face will stay insulated from the elements. And while venting may seem redundant on an open face helmet, Nolan has nevertheless equipped the N40 with intake and exhaust vents for excellent airflow.
VAS Shield System: Normally the shield mounting position must remain relatively high, because a lower shield pivot will not allow the shield to open or close. The VAS (Variable Axis System) has a variable axis (moving pivot point). This allows shield opening and closing even with the 24mm lower shield mount position, compared to the Corsair V. PB SNC2 Shell: The Corsair X helmet shell is constructed from Super Fiber and other special synthetic fibers developed for F-1 helmet visor panels, assembled and bonded by Arai experts. A specially-developed resin creates stronger bonds between shell materials with less weight.
The special shaping of the helmet shell and of the leading edge of the helmet provide the necessary down force. Even higher speeds do not lead to lifting forces. Furthermore, the S2 Sport has a reduced aerodynamic drag and optimized directional stability. When riding naked bikes, buffeting is also clearly reduced. Many hours spent in the Schuberth acoustic wind tunnel have also turned the S2 Sport into one of the quietest full face helmets in existence.
