An all new helmet from Scorpion, the EXO-T1200 is intended to be the company’s premier touring/sport touring lid. Similar to the EXO-R2000 in regards to its construction, the T1200 gets the lightweight TCT composite shell, the same sleek fitting faceshield and the handy AirFit system. Touring specific designs include a 3 position drop down sunshield and the new VSV (Venturi Super Vent) ventilation system. And yet even with its premier status in the Scorpion line, the EXO-T1200 still comes in less than most of its direct competition.
Slotting in to replace the N90 as Nolan’s value priced modular helmet, the new N91 features a couple key improvements but thankfully hasn’t increased its price over its predecessor. Besides the more modern and angular shell design, the real big difference to the N90 is the overhauled ventilation system. A more simplified system, the N91 now features one large chin vent, one large forehead vent and a prominent Venturi vent on the back. Both the easy to use drop down sun shield and flip up chin bar remain and combined with the more intermediate oval fit, the N91 should appeal to an even wider range of touring riders.
Perfectly at home in the city environment, Speed and Strength’s SS650 helmet offers up a huge field of vision with its open face configuration. The face shield ratchets up and down smoothly based on riding preference and weather conditions while the easy to reach drop down sun shield provides just the right amount of convenience during any ride.
The original Revolver helmet was a solid design but nevertheless presented areas that could be improved upon. So as would only be natural, Bell went back to the drawing board to create the more refined Revolver EVO. Highlighted by a better sealing eyeport, a new chin curtain and a smoother operating flip down sun shield, the Revolver EVO is not only more comfortable but substantially quieter as well. The aggressive and good looking shell carries over as does the $200 price point which combines to make the Revolver EVO Ghost a very compelling modular helmet choice.
Did you like the original Nolan N104 helmet? Good, because the N104 EVO takes that design and largely mirrors it. Yet once you put it on, one will start to notice the small improvements Nolan has made. Aiming to make it quieter and vent better, Nolan set to work changing the interior padding and neck curtain while also opening up the front intake air vents. Untouched in this overhaul is the flip up chin bar, the drop down sunshield and easy to change out face shield. Start to add it all up and you will find that the Nolan N104 EVO is a very, very solid choice in the competitive modular helmet segment.
