Icon is releasing a new, more race ready helmet and as a nice bonus, the Airframe Pro is being offered in either your choice of carbon fiber or composite shell materials. Compared to the previous Airframe, both versions feature an aggressively sculpted aerodynamic shell, expanded line of sight when in the tucked-in position and a customizable five piece inner liner. And as always, if you want over-the-top style, Icon haven’t toned down their design department.
The original Revolver helmet was a solid design but nevertheless presented areas that could be improved upon. So as would only be natural, Bell went back to the drawing board to create the more refined Revolver EVO. Highlighted by a better sealing eyeport, a new chin curtain and a smoother operating flip down sun shield, the Revolver EVO is not only more comfortable but substantially quieter as well. The aggressive and good looking shell carries over as does the $200 price point which combines to make the Revolver EVO a very compelling modular helmet choice.
Ventilation is quite impressive and each of the six large vents are three position adjustable ensuring you can always dial-in the airflow. The Variable Axis Shield System allows the face shield to be positioned lower on the shell and besides creating a smooth action, the locking latch is low, large and within easy reach. A clear Pinlock insert is standard and just to help that much more in poor conditions, the shield has two adjustable air vents itself. Summed up, the Corsair-X is a helmet that will carry Arai for years to come.
The ALLIANCE GT™ helmet’s ventilation system consist of strategically placed air intakes, vents, air channels, and exhaust ports. The main ingredient in venting the Alliance is the ICON® Supervent system featuring oversized intake ports controlled by individual vent triggers, along with recessed supervents to reduce wind noise. When activated, air is forced directly into the helmet, at both high and low speeds. Air is channeled between the comfort liner and protective EPS liner, expelling through the exhaust ports for maximum comfort.
Arai doesn’t come out with brand new helmets that often, so when they do you know it’s special. The Corsair-X breaks ground on a couple new designs and chief among them is a new, rounder shell that has been specifically shaped to increase the chance you glance off an impact and not just take the hit directly. Improving energy absorption, this added safety doesn’t increase weight or drag and still performs just like you’d expect any Arai would.
