Diffuser Type 12: The Corsair X Type 12 air diffusers are longer than the Corsair V and are straightened for improved aerodynamics, working together with the AirWing to improve stability, and creating a 19% gain in efficiency. The air intake vents are extremely adjustable and have three positions (closed, half open and fully open) and create a tight seal to decrease wind noise and water intrusion. Eco Pure Liner: The fully removable interior liner system is made from Eco Pure material, which helps maintain neutral acidity levels close to human skin and antibacterial consumption, as well as a softer liner material and adjustable temple padding to allow for a customized fit.
Icon is releasing a new, more race ready helmet and as a nice bonus, the Airframe Pro is being offered in either your choice of carbon fiber or composite shell materials. Compared to the previous Airframe, both versions feature an aggressively sculpted aerodynamic shell, expanded line of sight when in the tucked-in position and a customizable five piece inner liner. And as always, if you want over-the-top style, Icon haven’t toned down their design department.
VAS Shield System: Normally the shield mounting position must remain relatively high, because a lower shield pivot will not allow the shield to open or close. The VAS (Variable Axis System) has a variable axis (moving pivot point). This allows shield opening and closing even with the 24mm lower shield mount position, compared to the Corsair V. PB SNC2 Shell: The Corsair X helmet shell is constructed from Super Fiber and other special synthetic fibers developed for F-1 helmet visor panels, assembled and bonded by Arai experts. A specially-developed resin creates stronger bonds between shell materials with less weight.
Slotting in to replace the N90 as Nolan’s value priced modular helmet, the new N91 features a couple key improvements but thankfully hasn’t increased its price over its predecessor. Besides the more modern and angular shell design, the real big difference to the N90 is the overhauled ventilation system. A more simplified system, the N91 now features one large chin vent, one large forehead vent and a prominent Venturi vent on the back. Both the easy to use drop down sun shield and flip up chin bar remain and combined with the more intermediate oval fit, the N91 should appeal to an even wider range of touring riders.
